Day 1
We started the day right by not sleeping before the flight (due to very obvious *coughs* cramming *coughs* reasons. The Adventure Team, with the help of my brother and his batmobile, left for the airport at around 7. We started checking in as soon as we unloaded the stuff we had. We had quite a lot of stuff so we were a bit worried about the weight limit and the staff’s height, so we prayed to the cosplay deities for guidance and mercy. Fortunately, we were at exactly 30 kilos and they let the staves and weapons pass for travel. (A huge sigh of relief… whew!! THE COSPLAY GODS WERE KIND!!!)
We came across Sephiroth(aka Kuya Henry) and hung out with him during the check-in. We then saw Zen on the same flight as ours!! (yay! Yay!! We weren’t alone!) The plane landed at around 2:35, and we were welcomed by Kuya Robert (Evaguy), ate Jewel, and Charmie! They gave us tips, pointers, and a simcard to use for the trip (yay~~) before parting separate ways. Then, we ate at Burger King because we were really REALLY hungry (we weren’t able to eat because of cram-packing. ahehehe ^^;;;) Emi picked us up at the airport with team Malaysia (Xaijin and Amy) and went to the Laguna Country Club (Beautiful place~).
We got to the lodging at around 5, and were introduced to the staff and team Thailand (Aun and Naoki) who also happened to be the ones we shared rooms with. We rested for around 30 minutes, then went to the venue for rehearsals at 5:30.
The venue was so BIIIIIIIG!!!!! Just to give you an idea, 1 hall in SingEx was comparable to 2 halls in SMX (Yes! It’s THAT big!). Then we met the stage director, Maurice, and prepared for the rehearsals.
Each team’s performance had its own unique flavor, but all very impressive. I don’t want to spoil the broth by telling you, so better for you to watch it once someone uploads a video on the internet. We had dinner at the venue, and had casual chit-chats with the people. A few minutes later, Sese (our mama-san External) arrived, and then we headed back to the lodging. Talk, talk, talk, planning, planning, planning, then fix, fix, fix before plopping to bed like logs. Day 0, COMPLETE!!! YUSH!!!
We started out pretty late. We left the lodging at around 11, then went to the Singapore expo and check out what was happening in AFA. Here are some pictures from Z3LL and some from Kami~~
We watched the RCC solo competition especially because our dear friend, Yuu aka Jaroukasama, was selected to be a finalist! We cheered as loud as we could for our very dear tomodachi because she is awesome!!! The finalists strutted their stuff, and each had their time on stage.
After much tabulations, the winner was decided and it was...
